Scott S. Smith is
a Florida based photographer who produces top quality images
for advertising, editorial and corporate clients. As a
highly skilled and devoted imagemaker Scott’s approach to
every assignment can best be described as inspired
professionalism. Having been an Art Director he understands the
unique solutions necessary to shoot images specific for a
particular layout, or design. This knowledge helps Scott Smith
create photos that speak to the needs of ad agencies, design
firms, corporations and editorial publications.
Scott S. Smith graduated top of his class
from the renowned photography discipline at The Southeast
Center for Photographic Studies, where he received a grant from
Kodak, and international honors for his photographic work. He
became very familiar with the portrait photography industry and
established himself as a master in the darkroom while working
at a north florida photography studio for five years.
Scott’s fine-art/documentary
photography series “Reflections
of Daytona Beach” is housed in
the permanent collection of the Southeast Museum of Photography alongside
such names as William Klein, Sally Mann, Harry Callahan, Gordon
Parks, Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Steichen, Paul Strand, Aaron
Siskind and Robert Rauschenberg.
Always pushing to learn and better himself
Scott wanted more knowledge of the creative industry so he
obtained a B.A. in Graphic Design from Flagler College’s
highly respected program. After which, he worked as a freelance
art director for some of the areas top advertising agencies. He
worked as the senior art director of Zag Advertising and Design
in Jacksonville until June of 2005. After seven years of
experience as a freelance photographer and designer, Scott
decided to pursue his dream of owning his own business and
providing a quality professional service to his clients; so
SCOTT S. SMITH PHOTOGRAPHIC LLC was born. Nowadays, Scott
enjoys a regular list of clients and welcomes any new
photography project that provides the opportunity to create
great images, new clients, and good friends.
In addition to running a successful
photography business Scott has recently added teaching studio
photography at Flagler College to his agenda. He states
"it is an inspiration helping others learn, and by doing
so I am learning myself."
Architectural Photography presents itself
with specific equipment needs and skills that Scott has
acquired over the past twelve years. He specializes in
lighting interiors (both residential and commercial) and
capturing stunning exterior views of buildings, dwellings, and
homes. He has worked with many home builders, contractors,
interior designers, architects, and shelter publications.
Scott enjoys working on environmental
portraits, and has refined the neccessary techniques to obtain
great images on location, both efficiently and flawlessly.
Scott’s mastery of lighting technique has allowed him to
create incredible images of products, story content, portraits,
and food. Equipped with the best lighting, cameras, and
knowledge Scott can provide professional images that have
strong visual impact and serve any commercial need.
